Oxfam – Design For Change

We’re very excited about Oxfam’s new online collaboration for designers Design For Change.

Design for Change is a space for “designers, writers, thinkers, inventors, believers and change makers to forge creative solutions to global problems”.

It’s a great way to get involved and contribute to making positive change on both the local and global issue of poverty. Accordingly to Oxfam, 1 billion people around the world go to sleep every night hungry. They don’t have not enough money for basic items (that for one, take for granted each day) like food, clean water, and shelter from the cold.

Design for change challenges creatives to offer solutions through a seriers of briefs. Each brief outlines a key global problem and asks for a creative, innovative approach that will help Oxfam work in partnership with communities towards a world free from poverty.

Anyone with an idea can participate in the creative process, you don’t have to be an expert or professional. You can also comment on other people’s solutions to help refine and develop them before the current challenge closes and the best solutions are chosen.

I encourage any creatives to take a look at this new online initiative and get involved if you can. Pass it onto others because there is strength in numbers and this project deserves to have a global presence.
