This is what we found interesting this week…
Apple has set a date for the release of a new iPad Air and Mini for the 16th October:
Apple is preparing for another big product launch, and Thursday October 16 is the day.
The company has sent out press invitations with the tagline “it’s been too long” to an event next week, where it’s expected to debut the next-generation iPad Air and iPad mini. The event will be held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino at 10am California time (4am Friday AEDT).
Both devices are believed to come with faster processors — the same A8 chip found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus — and incorporate Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner. We might even see a gold iPad for the first time; Apple is reportedly bringing the popular colour from its iPhone lineup to the tablets.

Ten reasons why social media is good for business
Social media has just started a revolution in the world of business. Now, it is not just being used by people to connect to their family and friends who may be miles away; it is also being tapped by entrepreneurs to help their business as well.
It is also because of its potential that more and more businesses, even the small ones, are trusting it a lot. In fact, when The University of Maryland Smith School of Business conducted a study about the relationship between small businesses and social media, it was found out that 75% of businesses already own a company page on social networking sites like Facebook or LinkedIn while 69% actually post status updates and/or other content that are related to their field of interest.
Using social media apps to improve business analytics
Instagram may be the fastest-growing social media platform, with 40.5 million users logging on monthly—2.7 million more than Twitter—according to InformationWeek. Because of its popularity, it makes sense for small and midsize businesses (SMB) to find ways to utilize this social application as a marketing tool. Its new analytic tools are the perfect way to do so.
